Siemens Electric Machines in Drásov in the Brno region, which manufactures gearboxes and electric motors, needed to expand its production hall. ESOX built a two-bay hall with an administrative part adjacent to the existing hall. The project also included relocations and new lines for the site utilities, retaining walls, site paved areas and landscaping.
The premises are divided into three parts, i.e. assembly, dispatch and impregnation and baking rooms. The shape and proportions of the hall had to be adapted to the technological equipment.
The load-bearing prefabricated reinforced concrete structure is based on drilled piles, all three areas of the hall are fitted with crane tracks at a height of 14 metres, the cranes fitted have a lifting capacity of 70 tonnes. Where the new spaces are connected to the previously built ones, the supporting structures are made of steel.
The office extension has perimeter walls made of aerated concrete blocks and internal partitions made of plasterboard, the floors are covered with either ceramic tiles or carpet squares depending on the type of room.
The monolithic reinforced concrete floor slab has a smoothed surface for extreme loads. Several process pits and channels with a net depth of up to five metres have been excavated in the hall, with a steady groundwater pressure level of approximately one metre.
ESOX carried out the extension of the hall from May 2021 to June 2022, within the agreed timeframe, the cost of the work was CZK 161.73 million excluding VAT.
